CLOTHING OPTIONAL EXHIBITION / DRAWN OUT OF LIFE FUNDRAISER
April 1st, 2016
The month of April is going to be a busy month for the HUSTLE FOOT CLAN. Kicking off the month of April will be Gallery X’s CLOTHING OPTIONAL EXHIBITION and the DRAWN OUT OF LIFE Fundraiser! BOTH will be taking place Saturday April 9th! Closing out the month from Monday, April 18th – Friday 22nd, will be the CREATIVE OASIS: YOUTH ART PROJECT, where local artists will be teaching fine arts to the youth of New Bedford for FREE!!! This program is being implemented to offer creative and constructive options for the youth. Any time in the street is ENOUGH time to get in trouble.
Figure Drawing Fundraiser
Accompanying Gallery X’s exhibition of the human figure will be a Creative Thirst Fundraiser Series Event, DRAWN OUT OF LIFE (in the Douglas Gallery) from 3pm to 5pm. Professional Figure Models, Heather Berthelette and Walter Silvia will give our media a voice through their figures. Bring your easels & supplies, instruction and guidance will be available. LIMITED SEATS & SPACE AVAILABLE for this intimate event!!! Artists participating will be invited to continue working on their renderings an become part of a “live” display with their pieces around the CLOTHING OPTIONAL Exhibition Opening.
Any time in the street is ENOUGH time to get in trouble.
CLOTHING OPTIONAL (for the art)
The CLOTHING OPTIONAL Exhibit will feature art from local artists with the human figure being the focus! If you are attending, by ALL MEANS…PLEASE WEAR CLOTHES!!! If you don’t I’m not gonna be mad though! The human face is the MOST recognizable thing to the human eye. That must make the human body the MOST intriguing thing to humans; whether health, spirituality or art the vessels of our soul is STILL a mystery! We are ALL attracted and detracted by different combinations of features. Seeing this wonder, appreciation and adoration translated through the eyes of the creative is the goal of this show.

pssst…About Renting Our Galleries
The beautiful and historic spaces of Gallery X are available for cultural or social events, public or private. Our gallery and performance spaces can be rented daily, weekly, or monthly. The former church building at 169 William St. has been transformed by Gallery X into two exhibition spaces: the Main Gallery upstairs is a large wide open space with high ceilings (20ft +) and two movable walls, and the Frederick Douglass Gallery located on the lower level. Each gallery space contains a stage for performances. There is a service kitchen on the lower level making the facility an ideal venue for hosting catered events. The building is fully handicap accessible with an access ramp, a restroom and a wheel chair lift.
For more information or to book a space call 508-992-2675 or Email Susan Hauck Gallery Executive Director (to be added to our email list. You will receive notices about upcoming exhibitions, events and classes.
