It’s GOTTA be Happy Hour Somewhere! Destination Paint Party 002

Well, THIS is the week it goes down! Another unique, multi-sensory, destination painting event! This time it’s at the lovely Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery. Just driving into Westport to scout this location was soothing. As I drove down the dirt path I was greeted by the GORGEOUS landscaping and KNEW this location was right for this event! I was able to adjust the price AND time for this paint party lower than my last event, making it more affordable. This party is ONLY $40, and the price includes a glass of bubbly, art instruction and light refreshments. Additional beverages may be purchased on the premises for continued enjoyment of libations. Feel Free to bring a picnic basket and blankets too! FOR TICKETS…http://bit.ly/GottaBeHappyHour (Limited seating) Please SHARE and tell some friends about this unique, multi-sensory event!

Physicians to Prevent Opioid Abuse Campaign: Reclaiming New Bedford From Addiction

It’s not just “A small world” in the City of New Bedford, when it comes to networking, business and downright everything else; it’s compressed and and overlapping like the BEST game of TWISTER you EVER played! The networking is good and the opportunities run deep if you are focused, consistent and deliver…among other things.
Running into a Facebook friend Dr. Michael Rocha at BVO (Big Value Oulet) turned into something more when I realized I was also already a degree in contact with him through his his two sons in my painting sessions. The doctor and I have met a few times and there are BIG PLANS in the future for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford and myself in the near future! What I didn’t know is that I’d end up working with the lovely and talented entrepreneur Tracy Barbosa (who has had her daughter in my last Gesture Drawing & Comics classes)! Class was in session for me as there were two major projects we needed to tackle! Along with being in the 2016 EforAll ACCELERATOR PROGRAM, June proved to be the month that things kicked up SEVERAL NOTCHES!

The Creative Oasis: Youth Art Project MAKES IT HAPPEN!!! Part I

I consider serving my community as an obligation for making a living here. It’s doing my part to contribute to the sustainability of the community AND conservation of the culture.

Whatever sings to you DO IT…TODAY!!! I will confess I had NO IDEA what I was doing, but I was compelled and for the FIRST TIME, I REEEEEALLY followed through with a BIG project of my own AND had measurable success. The reward was in the service to the underprivileged and at-risk youth of New Bedford, BUT also in creating a KICK-ASS team of artists and young people. There was PLENTY of joy in seeing what the CREATIVE OASIS: YOUTH ARTS PROJECT meant to those who needed it!

RAIDERS of the LOST ARTS II – JOURNEY to ATLANTIS (RECAP)

ALL said and done…I’M HAPPY!!! The turn out was GREAT, so far some of Nik Ukleja and Suzanna Blake’s artwork sold which is REALLY the goal of these exhibitions! I enjoy showcasing art through curating and seeing the FRESH pieces, but uniting appreciation and support for an artist’s work is a GREAT FEELING!!! There were MANY familiar faces but I LOVE seeing NEW ones, ESPECIALLY those I invite!

Magisto and Social Media

I feel like the first person who carved and rolled a wheel down a hill, and then disappear into the forest. I know I can do it again…but how can I spin this into something BIGGER? I have a video on Magisto that RAPIDLY hit what I guess you could call mildly viral status in a few short days! To watch the exponential climb of numbers, just over a nights sleep was/is AMAZING!!! The BEST part is that all the views, shares and likes were for something I LOVE doing! The workshop in December with the youth from Southcoast Health’s R.A.P.P.P.  Program* was based on the art of giving as well as creating the art. It was the gift that keeps on giving! As of today it’s at 4,350 views!

Attitude Adjustment Series – 3 Ways to Learn, Know & Increase Your Value

Hey, this might be my last post for the year, huh!?! HAPPY HOLIDAYS Y’ALL!!! I wish I could hug all of ya’! As 2016 and my second favorite holiday (NEW YEAR’S DAY) approach I realize it’s a wrap, Folks! Yet another year we get to claim as lived through, and it treated me well! I’ve covered a LOT of ground, learned a LOT, painted on my fair share of canvas, and took my public involvement up several notches. I have HUGE plans and announcements opening up the year and I have a TON to sort out and plan. BUT, I also make it a habit to look at old work to gain perspective from past years. So, for the Resolutions being considered, I have whipped up the last installment of the ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT SERIES based in Value!

The Catapult Projects

There are jobs we take to make money and there are jobs we take for the Love. Mixed in there are those gem projects that you’d do for free, but the Universe makes it a paid gig AND you get ALL THE EXPOSURE YOU DESERVE!!! I call those Catapult Projects! These projects, I feel, are rewards for following the right path (for yourself). These projects are the supports for you to get to that next level, as they test your resolve, skill and dedication to your goals! If your not ready, get ready. Once opportunity swings by, ONLY IF YOU’RE READY will it be able to be considered luck. Otherwise, it’s just another missed opportunity. If you’re not getting prepared for something, you’re gonna be late for everything.
