Pondering over what I’ve learned this year through EforAll Southcoast’s Accelerator Program and the School of Hard Knocks have my gears whizzing like CRAZY!!! I have direction and fuel to get this operation functioning at peak capacity. But where am I going with this idea, goal, responsibility? What is the CREATIVE OASIS? What am I doing with this business? My answer…what NEEDS to be done. In EVERY DAMN WAY POSSIBLE I will be QUENCHING CREATIVE THIRST!!! I plan on alleviating the stress of the times by providing the public venues with creative outlets. I plan on revolutionizing education system with what is foolishly being reduced in at schools…Art.

Well, THIS is the week it goes down! Another unique, multi-sensory, destination painting event! This time it’s at the lovely Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery. Just driving into Westport to scout this location was soothing. As I drove down the dirt path I was greeted by the GORGEOUS landscaping and KNEW this location was right for this event! I was able to adjust the price AND time for this paint party lower than my last event, making it more affordable. This party is ONLY $40, and the price includes a glass of bubbly, art instruction and light refreshments. Additional beverages may be purchased on the premises for continued enjoyment of libations. Feel Free to bring a picnic basket and blankets too! FOR TICKETS…http://bit.ly/GottaBeHappyHour (Limited seating) Please SHARE and tell some friends about this unique, multi-sensory event!

As much as I write about things around the City and of all the hustling I get done in the City, working with the Home Schooling community has ALWAYS been some of the MOST rewarding! From my FIRST session to the latest, it’s given me a glimpse of what the future of education will be, and what I can do to help move that vision along!

Hello, My Name Is Fitzcarmel Manuel LaMarre. I’m a local artist in the LOVELY City of New Bedford, MA. I’m a transplant from California by way of Miami, Florida. Today is the day Gladys Kerlegrand brought me into this world…here in Massachusetts. I was drawn here by the NEED to be closer to Family. My grandmother’s 100th birthday party swayed me. Also, since my daughter graduated high school and went back to Florida for nursing school (and family) I didn’t want to be alone without family. Instincts were right and we laid grandma to rest last year at 102.5. My father Carmelo rounds it up.

ALL said and done…I’M HAPPY!!! The turn out was GREAT, so far some of Nik Ukleja and Suzanna Blake’s artwork sold which is REALLY the goal of these exhibitions! I enjoy showcasing art through curating and seeing the FRESH pieces, but uniting appreciation and support for an artist’s work is a GREAT FEELING!!! There were MANY familiar faces but I LOVE seeing NEW ones, ESPECIALLY those I invite!
