Pondering over what I’ve learned this year through EforAll Southcoast’s Accelerator Program and the School of Hard Knocks have my gears whizzing like CRAZY!!! I have direction and fuel to get this operation functioning at peak capacity. But where am I going with this idea, goal, responsibility? What is the CREATIVE OASIS? What am I doing with this business? My answer…what NEEDS to be done. In EVERY DAMN WAY POSSIBLE I will be QUENCHING CREATIVE THIRST!!! I plan on alleviating the stress of the times by providing the public venues with creative outlets. I plan on revolutionizing education system with what is foolishly being reduced in at schools…Art.

ALL said and done…I’M HAPPY!!! The turn out was GREAT, so far some of Nik Ukleja and Suzanna Blake’s artwork sold which is REALLY the goal of these exhibitions! I enjoy showcasing art through curating and seeing the FRESH pieces, but uniting appreciation and support for an artist’s work is a GREAT FEELING!!! There were MANY familiar faces but I LOVE seeing NEW ones, ESPECIALLY those I invite!

I recently went on a PHENOMENAL road trip to South Florida, with my brother Lloyd LaMarre. We went to see my daughter graduate Nursing school to become an RN. On that trip I went to the Arts and Entertainment district of Wynwood, Miami. It is home to over 70 galleries, museums and collections. I’m not sure if New Bedford has the physical wall space, but I’m going to work on covering them…inside out! By the end of the trip I had time to reflect on what my hometown meant to me, and who it made me (I’ll get into that in another post). BUT, I was happy to get the HELL out of the plague of humidity, and go back Home to New Beige!
